You can configure which languages are available for your collection and manage their translations in MyVeeva Studio.

  • Before you can approve your collection, all surveys must be translated into all selected languages.
  • Each language is defined as being a patient language, a site language, or both.
  • Unless updated, patient language is the default setting.

To view and manage languages and translations, complete the following steps:

  1. Navigate to a collection.
  2. Select the Languages tab.

From this point, you can use the steps below to complete the following tasks:

  • Add or Remove Languages
  • Review Translation Status
    • On the Languages tab
    • On the Surveys tab
  • Edit a Language (to support patients, sites, or both)
  • Download All Translations or Untranslated Text
  • Upload Translations

Adding or Removing Languages

To add a language to the collection, complete the following steps:

  1. Select Add Languages.
  2. Add the languages that are required for your study.
  3. Select Done.
  4. Once added to the list, select the Edit icon (Edit icon) to update the language to one of the following:
    • Patient and Site
    • Patient Only (default)
    • Site Only
  5. Select Update.

To delete a language from your collection while it’s in draft state, select the Remove Language icon (Remove Language icon) beside the name of the language you wish to delete.

Editing a Language

To edit a language in the collection, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the Languages tab.
  2. Select the Edit icon (Edit icon) to update the language to one of the following:
    • Patient and Site
    • Patient Only (default)
    • Site Only
  3. Select Update.

Reviewing Translation Status on the Languages Tab

To identify which languages are in your study’s collection and confirm if all necessary translations have been uploaded for those languages, select the collection for which you want to review the translation status and navigate to the Languages tab. Each language in the collection is listed with its translation status for Patient and Site surveys. If all translations are missing for a given language, the Status column displays No items translated.

Reviewing Translation Status on the Surveys Tab

To identify a survey’s required languages and translation status, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the Surveys tab.
  2. Review the Translated column for the following:
    • A count representing the number of translations uploaded out of the number of translations required.
    • Hover over the count to view the status of each required translation.

Downloading All Translations or Untranslated Text

To download a language’s completed translations or untranslated text, navigate to the Languages tab. Beside the name of the language from which you want to export text, select the Download Translations icon (Download Translations icon).

  • Select All Translations to download a JSON file containing all text for your surveys that have already been translated into that language.
  • Select Untranslated Text to download a JSON file containing all text for your surveys that haven’t been translated into that language.

Uploading Translations

To upload JSON translation files for the languages required by your collection, complete the following steps:

  1. Select the Languages tab.
  2. Select Upload Translations.
  3. Drag-and-drop or browse your computer for a language JSON translation file.
  4. Select Upload.

The system automatically detects the language of the JSON translation file and matches it to the appropriate language in the collection.
