# Filtering on Document Type

One convenient way of finding content of a particular type is to use the document type filter. If needed, you can use this filter together with [document field filters](/en/lr/1616/).

<div class="note-border alert-info">
  <div class="alert alert-info" role="alert">
    <div><i class="far fa-info-circle"></i></div>
    <div class="alert-text">
      <p><strong>Note</strong>: Your Vault’s Admins can modify which filters, including document type, are available in the Library by default. When you edit the visible filters, Vault remembers your selections.</p>
    </div>
  </div>
</div>

The Library shows all document types by default. To the right of the document type label in the **Filters** area, you can see the number of matching documents within the current Library view. To filter the visible documents, click on one of the document types. This action also reveals any subtypes under the selected document type and hides all other document types. Click on a subtype to drill down further.

## View All Option

To see all of the document types and subtypes on one page, click **View all**. From this page, you can click any of the document types, subtypes, or classifications to filter the current Library view. Click **Back to previous page** to leave the **All Document Types** page.
