# About Study Announcements

With [Veeva Site Connect](/en/lr/64231/), Sponsors and CROs can publish announcements such as trial deadlines and news in Veeva Clinical so they can broadcast relevant information to their site. Once published, these posts become visible to site users in **Site Connect > Site Home** so they can reference them later. In addition, each announcement is sent as an email to users at the site once posted.

## Create a Study Announcement

To create a study announcement:

1. Navigate to **Site Connect > Study Announcements**.

2. Click **Create**.

3. Select a **Study**.

4. Optional: Select a **Study Country** and **Study Site**. The countries available are based on those associated with the selected **Study**. The selected **Study** determines which study sites will receive the announcement when it is published. For example, if you select a **Study Country**, only sites within that country will receive the announcement. If you select a **Study Site**, only that study site will receive the announcement.

5. Enter an **Announcement Title**.

6. Enter the **Announcement Details**.

7. If you need to attach a document to the announcement, select it from the **Announcement Document** drop-down menu. Then, click the binoculars icon (<i class="fal fa-binoculars"></i>) to search for the document.

8. If applicable, select the correct document **Version**.

9. Click **Save**.
 
The _Study Announcement_ record is now created in the _Draft_ state. To publish the study announcement, change the record's state to **Publish Announcement to Sites**. Every site associated with the selected study receives the announcement and users at the site receive email notifications. You can also inactivate an announcement by moving it to the **Make Inactive** state. Once a study announcement moves into the _Publish Announcement to Sites_ state, the _Last Published Date_ field updates with the current date. If the study announcement was previously published, this action overwrites the last date.
