We’ve included several keyboard shortcuts to help you work quickly in Vault, especially within the Doc Info page and when modifying document fields. These shortcuts are available for all of Vault’s supported browsers, but not on mobile devices.

Document Views

Open/Close Full-Screen View CTRL + . CMD + . Using the command plus a period (punctuation) toggles the Full-Screen View on a document. This only works in the Document View or Mixed View in the Doc Info page.

Document Navigation

Page Down Page Down Page Down Navigates to the next page of the document. This works in any view in the Doc Info page.
Page Up Page Up Page Up Navigates to the previous page of the document. This works in any view in the Doc Info page.
Select Next Document J J Displays the next document listed in the Library. This works in any view in the Doc Info page.
Select Previous Document K K Displays the previous document listed in the Library. This works in any view in the Doc Info page.

Document Field Navigation

Select Next Document Field TAB TAB Switches to the next editable document field. You must be in the document field Edit mode and have the cursor on one of the fields. This also works in any other window with editable document fields, such as Workflow Start dialogs.

Open/Close the Find search window CTRL + F CTRL + F or CMD + F or CTRL + CMD + F The Find search window opens at the top of the browser window. You can enter keywords to search content within a Vault document. This only works in Document View in the Doc Info page.
Find Next Enter Enter When using the Find search window, this highlights the next match in the document content.
Find Previous Shift + Enter Shift + Enter When using the Find search window, this highlights the previous match in the document content.
Open/Close the Glossary CTRL + G CMD + G The Glossary panel opens in the sidebar to the left of the document. While the glossary is open, you can hold down the G key and select the text with your cursor, then release the G key and mouse button to search. This works in the View and Annotate modes of the Doc Info page.

Document Interaction

Select Next Annotation S S Highlights the next annotation on a document. This works in Annotate mode of the Doc Info page using the Document View or Notes View.
Select Previous Annotation W W Highlights the previous annotation on a document. This works in Annotate mode of the Doc Info page using the Document View or Notes View.
Show/Hide Annotations CTRL + , CTRL + , Use the command plus a comma (punctuation) to show/hide all annotations on a document. This works in Annotate mode of the Doc Info page using the Document View or Notes View.
Grab & Pan Shift Shift Hold down the Shift key while in Annotate mode switches the Annotation cursor into Grab cursor, allowing you to drag and pan in the document instead of having to scroll.
Copy from Document C C To copy text from a document in View or Annotate mode, hold down the C key and select the text with your cursor, then release the C key and mouse button to copy.
Open/Close the Glossary CTRL + G CMD + G The Glossary panel opens in the sidebar to the left of the document. While the glossary is open, you can hold down the G key and select the text with your cursor, then release the G key and mouse button to search. This works in the View and Annotate modes of the Doc Info page.
