OpenData Clinical allows you to create a clean and compliant directory of clinical trial sites and investigators in your Vault by utilizing and linking to a master database of curated records.
Note: Veeva Support must enable OpenData Clinical in your Vault. OpenData Clinical is part of the Clinical Operations application family. You must have Veeva CTMS and/or Veeva eTMF to use OpenData Clinical. Contact your Veeva representative for more information.
The OpenData Clinical database contains investigator and site records. Based on public sources such as registries and publications, Veeva curators compile OpenData Clinical records for sites and investigators linked to clinical trials starting within the last ten (10) years.
With OpenData Clinical, you can link Institution-type Organization object records and Investigator-type Person object records to OpenData Clinical records. By connecting your Vault records to OpenData Clinical records, OpenData Clinical prevents the creation of duplicate records within your Vault, ensuring your records are clean and standardized. This reduces the risk of incorrect, outdated data and minimizes the need for users to manage site and investigator data.
OpenData Clinical provides the following capabilities:
- Link Institution-type Organization object records to OpenData Clinical site records
- Link Investigator-type Person object records to OpenData Clinical investigator records
- Allow OpenData Clinical to manage the data and set values for select fields on Vault records linked to OpenData Clinical records
- Submit Data Change Requests (DCRs) to request the addition of new site and investigator records to the OpenData Clinical database
- Submit DCRs to request changes to existing OpenData Clinical records
